A good friend has opened my eyes to a really important organisation in the UK by running a half marathon in support of it. Brenda has this to say:
“Have you, your children or anyone you know ever been bullied? If so, you know what a traumatic experience it can be. I was bullied as a child for being overweight and bookish. I got through it, but for some children it is life-changing. Nowadays with mobile phones and social networking, there is an added threat of cyber bullying which is more pervasive.
I have chosen to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon on Sunday the 7th October in aid of a UK charity called BEATBULLYING.
BeatBullying works with children and young people across the UK to stop bullying and they are raising money to increase the number of emergency online counsellors, visit schools and train ‘Mini Mentors’.
