“Sometimes you’re happy and sometimes you’re sad, but the world goes ’round”
I started thinking about And the World Goes ‘Round which I saw and loved 20 years ago in New York, when i recently posted about the Kander and Ebb show, Flora the Red Menace. Last night at the stellar Finborough Theatre seeing a fantastic production of Drawer Boy, the artistic director Neil McPherson mentioned that it coincidentally was on in London right now. And so it is….at the Canal Cafe.
From the Canal Cafe Website : And The World Goes ‘Round is a celebration of the work of the legendary songwriting team of John Kander and Fred Ebb. The songs of this award winning duo are marked by their striking theatricality, sharp wit and honest examination of universal human emotion. The World Goes ‘Round is a unique theatrical event which will surprise, delight andultimately enlighten. Join an incredible cast of West End performers for this roller-coaster ride of song and story.
