The Wallace Collection opens new Dutch Gallery

After an 18-month refurbishment programme, the Wallace Collection, one of my favourite museums to visit in London,  has re-opened its  Dutch Gallery. The Wallace Collection, A Family Collection, A National Museum, An International Treasure HouseFrom the Wallace: “These three newly refurbished galleries create a fresh architectural language for the display of one of Europe’s finest collections of Dutch art. The original height of the galleries from the time of Sir Richard Wallace has been recreated and new roof lights let in natural light and clear views of the sky. The vision for the new galleries is influenced by the rooms of two historic figures, including the Prince Regent. Like his collections, the Dutch paintings are hung on a deep, rich blue silk and each gallery is themed – expect to see a room of Rembrandts and his contemporaries! “
