“Be Happy with What You Have”: Pembridge School Art Exhibition at Debut Gallery

Debut Contemporary, on Westbourne Grove in Notting Hill is proud to present “Be Happy With What You Have”- an installation piece made by the girls from Pembridge Hall Advanced Art Club Year 6 in collaboration with Debut artist Henry Wood. The work was created over 5 workshops in the school as well as in the gallery.

According to the Gallery: “It is partially inspired by other artworks that they saw in the gallery, and to the other part based on given assignments. The girls were asked to bring objects that they enjoy having in their lives and that represent how they like to spend their time (either in form of photographs, sketches, or physical objects), as well as found objects that caught their attention. The first workshop entailed a tour around the gallery, exploring different artworks. During the second workshop the girls came up with the title and concept themselves. Following that and the work grew organically and collaboratively”

“It was a fun and educational experience” Poppy A.

“ it was very fun making a collaborative piece of art together and finding out how to combine all our ideas.” Sasha
