Given that i was Pitti-Sing in my fifth grade class play (I’m not sure which one she is in the photo below), The Mikado (Gilbert and Sullivan’s comic masterpiece) will always have a special place in my heart. The story according to the King’s Head website : A sharp and witty satire of 19th Century British politics and institutions, set in the fictitious Japanese town of Titipu, The Mikado is one of the most frequently performed and enduringly popular musical theatre pieces in history. Charles Court Opera is building its reputation as the “masters of Gilbert and Sullivan in small spaces” .
