Tonight was my first time in the intimate space of the Finborough Theatre which was magically transformed into a big top/music hall fairytale set for The Roar of the Greasepaint – The Smell of the Crowd. With one sensational song after another, including some unforgettable ones sung with raw emotion by Matthew Ashforde, this is a brilliant revival. It is consistently entertaining, even when merely watching the mesmerizing facial expressions of the chorus made up of strange female clowns. One wouldn’t expect that a play performed in a space where the actors are literally minding your feet as they dance could be as absorbing as Roar of the Greasepaint is. This is one not to miss.
The show only runs until July 2nd so i suggest booking ticket now!
