The small Barons Court Theatre (60 seats) is located in the cellar/vaults below the Curtains Up Pub and has a very intimate feel. The artistic director tends to produce a mix of classics and newer works, with his primary focus on plays that are entertaining. Dear Brutus is considered one of J.M. Barrie’s most delightful and thought provoking comedies.
The publicity given to his creation of ‘Peter Pan’ tended to overshadow Barrie’s other work and it is a great pity that this resulted in ‘Dear Brutus’ not becoming more widely known. All the more reason to seize this opportunity to come along to see this hugely entertaining play this week.
